Join Us at Surf Coast Arts Trail 2025
The 2025 Surf Coast Arts Trail is coming!
We couldn't be more excited to be involved in the Surf Coast Arts Trail! This weekend marks one of our favourite times of the year as the Surf Coast Arts Trail 2025 opens its doors to art lovers, makers, and anyone who appreciates the beauty of handcrafted work.
Our Creative Haven at Ashmore Arts
Here at Georgie Wood, we're incredibly fortunate to call Ashmore Arts our home. Nestled amongst towering trees, native bushland, and the gentle rolling hills that define our beautiful Surf Coast, our workshop sits within one of the region's most inspiring creative communities. There's something truly magical about this place – perhaps it's the way the morning light filters through the canopy, or how the natural surroundings seem to whisper stories of the timber we work with daily.
Throughout the year, Ashmore Arts buzzes with creative energy. Our fellow artisans – painters, sculptors, ceramicists, and makers of all kinds – work alongside us, each contributing their unique vision to this special corner of the world. But once a year, during the Surf Coast Arts Trail, we throw open our doors wider than ever, inviting the community to step inside and witness the magic that happens here every day.
When: Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 August, 2025
Time: 10am - 4pm each day
Where: Ashmore Arts, 55b Ashmore Rd, Torquay
What Awaits You This Weekend
This year's trail promises to be something special. As you wander through our workshop, you'll get an intimate glimpse into the world of custom timber furniture making.
We'll have a curated selection of tables, chairs, and smaller timber pieces on show on the day and maybe even a sale piece or two – perfect for those looking to take home a piece of Surf Coast craftsmanship immediately. Each item has been lovingly crafted in our workshop using premium Australian timbers, showcasing the natural beauty and character that makes our furniture so distinctive.
But beyond the pieces ready to go home with you, we're most excited about the conversations we'll have. There's nothing we love more than chatting about your upcoming projects – whether you're dreaming of a custom dining table that will become the heart of your home, envisioning built-in cabinetry that maximizes your space, or simply curious about how we bring ideas to life in timber.
Supporting Local Artisans
When you visit the Surf Coast Arts Trail, you're not just viewing art – you're supporting a network of local creators who have chosen to make their living through their craft. Every purchase, every conversation, every moment of appreciation helps sustain this vibrant creative ecosystem that makes our region so special.
The trail also offers a unique opportunity to meet the makers behind the work. There's something powerful about looking into the eyes of the person who painted that artwork, shaped that bowl, carved that sculpture, or built that boat. It creates a connection that extends far beyond the transaction, turning objects into stories and purchases into relationships. A few of our mates out at Ashmore we love saying hi to are; Natalie Martin, Erin Reinboth, Rowena Martinich, Geoffrey Carran, right next door we have Mayde Concrete and Form Concrete Studios and just up from us is Harvey’s Boat Co plus SO many more talented artists.
Looking Forward
As we prepare for this weekend's festivities, we're reminded of why we do what we do. It's not just about creating beautiful furniture – it's about being part of a community that values craftsmanship, creativity, and the timeless satisfaction of making something with your hands.
We can't wait to welcome you into our world at Ashmore Arts. Come for the beauty of handcrafted timber furniture, stay for the warmth of our creative community, and leave with either a special piece for your home or inspiration for your next custom project.
The Surf Coast Arts Trail 2025 is more than an event – it's a celebration of everything that makes our creative community special. We'll see you amongst the towering trees and rolling hills, where art comes to life and dreams take shape in timber.
See you this weekend at Ashmore Arts – where every piece tells a story, and every story begins with a conversation.
